29-09-2020·When WoodRiver announced its new socket chisels, I was very intrigued. Price-wise, these chisels fall into the intermediate range – $35-$45 for an individual chisel (depending on size). I picked up a 1⁄2“ chisel and a 3⁄4“ chisel to put through the paces. The chisels are ground from 100 CR-V steel and tempered to a hardness of HRC 58-63.

14-05-2018·WoodRiver has entered the bevel edge socket chisels market with a full range of sizes, including the basic four-piece set (1/4 in., ½ in., 3/4 in., and 1 in.), which I tested for this review. For someone looking for a bevel-edge socket chisel at a lower cost, these are a solid option. Out of the box, there was a lot to like about these tools.

25-06-2012·A good chisel for 9$ each. This is my first set of chisels that are not meant to be smashed with a sledge hammer. I bought these for a few reasons: 1 – they were on sale from 89.99 to 53.992 – The Bubinga handles are REALLY well done.

31-12-2012·First Impressions Review of Wood River Butt Chisels. i received these for Christmas this year. I’ve been eyeing them for a while, mostly due to the beautiful Bubinga handles that fit so wonderfully in the palm and the on-sale price of $29.99. This is just a short review based on the initial set up and a few paring and chopping exercises.

29-03-2017·IBC Chisels. When I first looked at them, IBC’s new bench chisels reminded me of Stanley Everlasting chisels. Like the Everlasting series, IBC chisels have solid metal running from the strike cap through the handle and down to the cutting edge. In size and feel, they are comparable to the Stanley 750 chisels.
